Asian Art Week in New York concluded with strong results across several categories, with exceptional works drawing competitive bidding from collectors around the world totaling US$58.1 million. Hiroshige: Colors of the Four Seasons | The Alan Medaugh Collection achieved 100% sold by lot, with the total reaching more than four times the low estimate, marking several new world records for the artist’s works. South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art continued its momentum, achieving US$22.6 million, more than three times its low estimate, with 100% of lots sold. The auction also set eight new records, including one for any work of Sri Lankan modern art offered at auction.

Chinese Works of Art also demonstrated outstanding results, with the Ritual, Cosmos, and Imperial Splendor sale achieving 94% sold by lot and the Important Chinese Art Including Ceramics from the Art Institute of Chicago sale achieving 2.5 times its low estimate. Among the highlights was an important and very rare Dali marble-inset huanghuali table screen and brush holder, which achieved 65 times its low estimate, as well as a very rare waistless huanghuali daybed which sold for US$3.17 million, more than 26 times its low estimate.

Concluding the week, Arts of Asia Online and Japanese Art Online combined to total US$2.5 million.
