The Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale realised £14,307,800 / $22,420,323 / €17,655,825. The auction was 61% sold by lot and 80% by value. The top lot was Retrato de Modesto Castillo, 1895, by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) which sold for £2,169,250 / $3,399,215 / €2,676,855 against a pre-sale estimate of £100,000 to £150,000. This is the first London Day Sale work in the category to fetch in excess of £2 million.
