Signed Soetsu and kakihan, Edo Period (17th century)
Decorated in gold, silver and red hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and hirame and inlaid in pewter and mother-of-pearl on a black ground with a hat lying on the ground beside a farmers straw hut, the reverse with a sickle amongst cut grasses, nashiji interiors and risers
