Rectangular box with rounded corners, the lid inset with a rectangular enamel plaque painted with a Mameluke groom astride a prancing black stallion while leading a white horse, in a riverside landscape, the plaque set on a panel cast with a four-colour gold border representing acanthus alternating with lotus leaves and set with a blue-enamelled narrow band, the sides engraved with scrolls, the base centred by a chased four-colour gold bouquet of flowers on a matted ground surrounded by a strapwork pattern within a green gold scroll border
