A 12-inch (33cm.) diameter terrestrial globe made up of two pairs of twelve lithographed gores, hand coloured in outline, lightly varnished, the oceans decorated showing the tracks of the various explorers from Vasco de Gama to Vancouver, (the globe lightly discoloured and stained, with old repairs along the equator), with metal axis, graduated brass meridian and hour circle, mounted on a biedermaier-style tripod stand, the papered horizon supported by three supports to the baseplate, with central compass, the edge of the horizon decorated with papered shell motifs -- 20¼in. (51.5cm.) high
