A LARGE CHINESE IMARI ARMORIAL CHARGER
Circa 1720
The rounded sides rising to a wide, flared rim, painted in the center with the arms of van Overveldt beneath a banderole inscribed with the motto PAMEN within a roundel surrounded by three mythical beasts standing atop rockwork against a backdrop of peony stems, the three separated by ruyi-shaped extensions of the somewhat free-form peony and chrysanthemum-filled border, all in underglaze blue, iron-red, grisaille and gilding
