Two albums containing a total of approx. 190 gelatin silver prints, two heavily hand-coloured, sizes from 2 x 3½ in. to 8½ x 11½ in. or the reverse, titled in ink and the former with photographers' blindstamp on mounts, half morocco (the former with pages disbound, the latter with spine lacking and front and back covers detached), each titled and with photographers' credits in gilt on front cover, oblong 4to. and sm. oblong 4to. The former documents the visit of the His Excellency the Earl of Reading, Viceroy of India to Indore and includes portraits of the Maharaja of Holkar awaiting the arrival of the Viceroy, 'Inspecting the Guards', a view of Chattribagh, Manikbagh Palace (their Excellencies Residence), Lalbagh Palace, King Edward Hall including interior views of an exhibition visited by the Viceroy, images of the Viceroy inspecting the wards at King Edward Hospital, watching polo; and several of a party given to him by the ruling princes at the Daly College. The latter contains views of the Old Palace, Bosanquet market, Chattribagh, the Law Courts, King Edward Hall, Yeshwart Niwas, Lalbagh Palace, Holkar College, several river views, Daly College, Bhanpura Fort and the Cut-Temple (Dhamnar).
