The Honey Buzzard is the east Asian form of this bird of prey widely distributed across the old world. Both resident and a winter migrant to India. Not strictly a buzzard but an arboreal species specialising in feeding on wasps and similar insects by following their flightlines and digging the grubs out of their nests.
The Persian inscription reads 'Juzbaz', which is the local name for the species.
