Each with curved padded back and seat covered in light-blue geometrically-patterned material, on ring-turned legs with beaded collars, brass castors, one stamped '8756 GILLOW', the other '8755 GILLOW', the back castors stamped 'COPES PATENT STRONG', two front castors stamped 'COPES PATENT' (2)

The numerical stamps on these tub bergeres were being used by Gillows in the 1870s. A very similar model is illustrated in a pattern book by C. and R. Light in 1881 (E. Joy, Pictorial Dictionary of British 19th Century Furniture Design, Woodbridge, 1997, p. 153).
