Thomas Worsey was a Birmingham flower painter who trained as a 'japanner', or painter on papier-mâché. He turned to flower painting around 1850 and thereafter exhibited widely at the Royal Academy, the British Institution, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Portland Gallery and in the principal provincial towns.
