The Oceanic jug was first introduced by the Shorter and Sons factory in the 1880's. Strangely it was revived by Clarice in 1931 and issued in her bright, on glaze enamels. Being heavily painted, it cost more than standard Bizarre and so confusing for collectors was given an Appliqué backstamp.
