A Louis XIV carved and gilded frame, with dentil course at outer edge; outer scotia; the flower-heads at corners and anthemia at centres on cross-hatched ground and flanked by scrolling foliage, alternating with panels of latticework on ogee moulding with cross-hatched ground; recessed sanded band; torus at inner edge with bound rods entwined with leaves running from flower-heads at centres to acanthus leaves at corners; cavetto sight edge - 17½ x 14 x 4 1/8in.
