The Battle between the Israelites and the Amalekites

This painting is a reduced variant of a painting of the same subject last sold at Sotheby's, London, 12 July 1978, lot 241. Another composition of the Battle of Hannibal by Pauwels Casteels depicts the same central groups of figures (see Venduehuis der Notarissen, The Hague, 21 November 2018, lot 233).
