Édition originale de ce livre entièrement composé par Fernand Léger, avec texte et illustrations lithographiés. L'artiste s'inspire des représentations du cirque Medrano auquel il se rendait en compagnie de Guillaume Apollinaire et Max Jacob. "His hand-written text celebrates the freedom and roundness of the circus as an abstract shape, while his strident, primary colors and heavy black outlines evoke the clangor and vitality of the circus world of entertainment" (The Artist and the Book).
