The present timepiece offers collectors of rare vintage Patek Philippe timepieces a fantastic chance to obtain an example of the renowned reference 1579. According to research, only about 105 of the approximately 250 yellow models produced are currently known to the market, highlighting their rarity.

The present reference 1579 'spider lugs' chronograph, which is part of the extremely rare second series, is in excellent condition and still has a very clear hallmark behind the upper left lug. With its hard enamel 'chemin de fer' scales, applied gold numerals, and square indexes, the classic second-series dial has naturally aged over time, giving the watch a charming and distinctive personality. The watch is powered by the renowned calibre 13''130, a movement praised for its reliability and finished to the manufacturer's highest standards, just like the majority of Patek Philippe chronographs from that era.

Adding further appeal, the dial is double-signed with the retailer 'Rolandi'. Rolandi was a niche boutique that was founded in Naples in 1948 and only operated for a brief time. As a result, surviving examples bearing its signature are extremely rare and highly sought-after.

The fact that Wenger, one of Geneva's best casemakers at the time, produced the cases adds to the model's significance during the golden age of chronograph manufacturing in the middle of the 20th century.
