EAST CAUCASUS, CIRCA 1880

A comparable east Caucasian rug displaying five rectangular medallions with angular, stylised animals within each of their corners, attributed to Daghestan, is published by Eberhart Herrmann, (Von Ushak Bis Yarkand, Munich 1982, pl.51).
