ATTRIBUTED TO GIOVANNI BATTISTA PIAZZETTA, THE RESURRECTION OF THE CHRIST, RED CHALK

A drawing of the same subject but with a slightly different composition, executed in black chalk and formerly in the collection of Professor Eric Stanley, was sold at Christie’s, London, on 28 January 2027, lot 67. That sheet was engraved by Francesco Bartolozzi after 1754 as a pendant to an Assumption of the Virgin (G. Knox, Piazzetta. A Tercentenary Exhibition of Drawings, Prints, and Books, exh. cat., Washington, National Gallery of Art, 1983, p. 206, no. 94).

Un dessin de même sujet mais de composition légèrement différente, à la pierre noire, provenant de l’ancienne collection du professeur Eric Stanley, est passé en vente chez Christie’s, Londres, 28 janvier 2027, lot 67. Ce dernier a été gravé par Francesco Bartolozzi après 1754 en pendant d’une Assomption de la Vierge (G. Knox, Piazzetta. A Tercentenary Exhibition of Drawings, Prints, and Books, cat. exp., Washington, National Gallery of Art, 1983, p. 206, no. 94).
