Nicolas-Toussaint Lemoyne des Essarts, called Desessarts (1744-1810) was at one point a lawyer, who switched vocations to bibliographer. There is no evidence that Desessarts was part of the Institute.

Edmé Mentelle (1730-1816) was a French geographer and one of the founding members of the Institut.
