The Vint Family Collection Christie’s is delighted to present the Vint Family Collection of Chinese ceramics and works of art. The collection was formed by the current owner’s grandfather Edward John Cyril (E.J.C.) Vint (1894-1971) in the first half of the 20th century and added to by his son, John Vint (1924-2007) in the following decades. The assemblage comprises an unusual group of Ming and Qing dynasty amber carvings from the Collection of T. B. Kitson, jade, jadeite and hardstone carvings, cloisonne enamel works of art, lacquer and porcelain. Many works from this old English collection were published and loaned to museum exhibitions in the 1950s and 1960s and the majority were purchased from leading London auction houses and dealers such as Spink & Son Ltd, Charles Nott and William Clayton. Christie’s Hong Kong offered an important collection of jade carvings from The Vint Family Collection on 3 December 2008.
