HELLENISTIC PERIOD, CIRCA LATE 4TH-EARLY 3RD CENTURY B.C.

The mold-made figural tondo of the lid features a scene in raised relief of an embracing seated couple and Eros. The vessel is ornamented in the typical Canosan fashion of vibrant colors, primarily pink and red, over a white slip.
