NORTHERN DYNASTIES (386-581)

The present figure is an unusually large and handsome example of this type. It was formerly in the collection of Julius Eberhardt (1936-2012), an acclaimed Austrian architect and collector of Chinese art. He assembled a significant collection of Chinese works of art at the end of the 20^th century, ranging from the Neolithic period to the Tang dynasty. The result of Oxford Authentication thermoluminescence test no. C298h98 (22 December 1998) is consistent with the dating of this lot.
