These drawings are reminiscent of the scenes drawn on Rowlandson's 1790s visit to and tour journey around the Isle of Wight, with Samuel Howitt (1756-1822) and Henry Wigstead (d.1800). A large group of drawings from this tour are at the Isle of Wight Museum, Newport.
