La panse de forme balustre à la glaçure craquelée est ornée de pivoines et chrysanthèmes parmi les tiges feuillagées. Un bandeau à fond vert rythmé de têtes de ruyi souligne la jonction entre le corps et le col et est encadré par deux frises de feuilles de bananier stylisées. Le col porte une inscription poétique.
Hauteur : 39 cm. (15 3/8 in.), monture en bronze doré

Compare with a similarly decorated vase with a Chenghua four-character mark under the base preserved in the British Museum, registration no. Franks.677.+. See another similar vase, also bearing a poetic inscription on its neck, previously in the H. B. Harris Collection, illustrated in R. L. Hobson, The wares of the Ming Dynasty, pl. 17, p. 70.
