An Edwardian casket
of rounded oblong form and with gadroon, shell and foliate borders and with a plush-mounted oak base, engraved with lozenges and foliage and applied with enamelled armorials, an enamelled portrait of the recipient and his wife, orbs, wreaths and a cartouche with inscription in Welsh, the domed cover applied with plain cartouches and with a cartouche handle, also with presentation inscription in Welsh, the interior containing an illuminated scroll with ivory handle, Birmingham 1905 - 12½in. (32cm.) overall.

The inscriptions on the above piece and the citation on the scroll commemorates thirty-one years of service by the Rev. Evan Jones to his parish. The piece was given to him by his grateful parishioners as a retirement gift along with a collection of money. We are indebted to The London Welsh Club for the above information.
