The pose of the present figure - standing with her weight on her left leg, her right leg bent at the knee and her left hand positioned over her pudendum – indicates that this bronze is modelled on the Capitoline Venus. In her outstretched right hand she holds a phiale or a mirror. The same pose – but with the goddess holding an apple – can be observed on a bronze now in Weißenburg, no. 116b in E. Schmidt, “Venus,” LIMC, vol. VIII.
