It is unusual to find a Kangxi wucai bowl with this design of this small size and it is even rarer to find a pair of such bowls. They may be compared with a group of three Kangxi bowls of varying sizes illustrated in Qing Imperial Porcelain, Nanjing Museum, Art Gallery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1985, no. 26.
