BOIVIN
René Boivin was passionate about jewellery and translated this passion in his excellent designs. He decided to open his own company in the 1890s, after spending some years creating jewels for other jewellery houses. His creations were unique and colourful, bold designs such as an articulated chameleon set with rubies and emeralds or a simple gold necklace inspired by cultures of the Ancient World. After his death in 1917, his wife Jeanne Poiret took over the business, and kept on creating avant-garde jewels together with her daughter Germaine Boivin, Suzanne Belperron and later Juliette Moutard.
