This tricoteuse is based on a group by or attributed to Jean-Henri Riesener (maître in 1768) including that made this ébéniste for Marie Antoinette at Saint-Cloud, now in the Musée Nissim de Camondo, illustrated in the museum catalogue, 1973, no. 347, p. 73.
