The grand-father of the present owner, P.Y.Smith Esq., recorded this Bonheur du Jour as being loaned to Buckingham Palace in July 1914 upon the visit of Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his wife The Duchess of Hohenberg. This was arranged through Lenygon & Morant, the well-known Interior Decorators, where P.Y.Smith's brother, Ralph.F.Smith, was a partner.
