2 parts in one volume, 2° (375 x 235mm). First title in red and black, 23 engraved plates, woodcut diagrams, initials and head-pieces. (Few occasional scattered stains.) 19th-century half calf, red spine label, speckled edges (head of front joint splitting, some rubbing). Provenance: erased inscription on title.

RARE FIRST EDITION. Guarini was an architect and mathematician and a member of the Theatine order. He designed churches in Turin, Messina and Paris. Only 4 copies recorded in ABPC/RBH. Riccardi I, 637; Houzeau and Lancaster 9236.
