A MULTI-ARMED GILT-LACQUERED BRONZE FIGURE OF GUANYIN
MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
The bodhisattva is seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with the principle hands held in anjalimudra before the chest, the others holding various ritual objects. He is dressed in voluminous robes, adorned with beaded jewelry and is crowned with an elaborate foliate diadem that supports a diminutive image of Amitabha.
