Very finely cast seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with his right hand in bhumisparshamudra, the body elegantly modeled and wearing a diaphanous robe draped across his left shoulder, his face with a serene expression surmounted by a domed ushnisha

Compare the proportions of the body with its wide sloping shoulders and tapered waist, the thin hem of the robe, and small tight curls of hair with a fourteenth century bronze figure of Shakyamuni from the Jo Khang monastery in Lhasa (U. von Schroeder, Buddhist Sculptures in Tibet: Vol II, 2001, p.962, fig.231B).
