A GREEN-GLAZED POTTERY FIGURE OF A DOG
EASTERN HAN DYNASTY (25-220)
The hollow figure is naturalistically modelled as a recumbent dog with its head tilted upwards, the mouth agape exposing the tongue and fangs, covered with a finely crackled green glaze with a silverish iridescent patina. The underside and interior are unglazed exposing the reddish-brown body.
