Arabic manuscript on paper, 301ff. plus one fly-leaf, each folio with 13ll. of elegant black naskh, gold verse roundels, sura headings in white on gold ground within polychrome strapwork borders, text panel set within wide gold rules, gold and polychrome illuminated marginal medallions, catchwords, opening bifolio with gold and polychrome floral illumination surrounding text in clouds reserved against gold ground, colophon possibly added and containing the scribe's name and date similarly contained within clouds reserved against gold ground in a triangular cartouche, in contemporaneous morocco binding with tooled and gilded arabesque decoration, the doublures with similar tooled decoration, the flap partially lost, owner's note in German and dated 1963 facing colophon
