I.Q. van Regteren Altena inventoried the present drawing as Aert van der Neer (1603/4-1677). However, no closely comparable drawing by the artist is known and the attribution is no longer sustainable.

Dr. Alice Davies, who we thank for her help in cataloguing this drawing, has rejected the attribution to van der Neer.
