A one-page autograph letter of 5 lines, signed, from Chartwell, Westerham, Kent, 6th January 1931, to Mr. Wethersall, saying: "Thank you so much for your letter which it has been a great pleasure and encouragment for me to receive, coming especially from an old schoolfriend and from one thoroughly acquainted with the problem. I shall continue to do my best; and we all must" (creased on folds, verso of centrefold repaired with adhesive tape).
