SEALS OF ZENG LONGSHENG (1901-1964)
The sage is shown seated on a rock with a scroll beside him, carrying a whisk in one hand. His robes and the scroll are covered with cream and brown enamels, while his face, torso, hand and the rock are painted on biscuit. The base is stamped with two identical seals Zeng Longsheng zao.

Zeng Longsheng (1901-1964) was a celebrated potter at the Jingdezhen kilns who specialised in figural sculptures. A complete set of the Eighteen Luohan by Zeng Longsheng can be found in the collection of the University Museum and Art Gallery, The University of Hong Kong. The set was donated to the museum by Sir Kenneth Ping-fan Fung.
