oval tortoiseshell shell, the cover, sides and base covered in dark green lacquer within pierced and chased gold mounts, the cover centred with a portrait miniature on ivory of a gentleman in a grey coat, with red embroidered waistcoat and white cravat, signed with monogram ‘FS / 176[…]’ (lower right)
