AN OUTSTANDING COLLECTION OF FINE AND RARE WINES INCLUDING RARE 19TH CENTURY CLARET
The following collection (lots 138-203) have been recently removed from the cellars of a country house in South Wales, The owner regularly purchased wines at Christie's auctions in the late 1970s and early 1980s including a remarkable array of 19th century Bordeaux. Many of these particular wines originate from the Collection of Madame Teysonneau-Zambini whose 18th century mansion in the centre of Bordeaux contained two cellars: for 'old wine' (over 70 years old) and 'young wine'. The 'old' cellar had a constant temperature of 52 degrees Fahrenheit and relatively high levels of humidity. The collection includes the incredibly rare second wine of Ch Margaux from the 1900 vintage. The grand vin from this year is widely acknowledged to be at the apex of great claret while the second wine is rarely seen having as it is believed not to have been shipped to the United Kingdom.

This collection therefore represents a unique opportunity to purchase rarities from another age.
