Spring

The series of the Four Seasons was first produced in the Bassano workshop in 1574, a collaborative effort by Jacopo and his eldest son Francesco Bassano (Vienna, Kunsthistorisches Museum).
The present painting, Spring, derives from the original composition in Vienna, with notable changes -- there are alterations to the placement of certain figures and anecdotal details.
