8° (175 x 102mm). Engraved title with Hollar's arms, 48 engraved plates by Hollar, all titled in Latin and English and numbered consecutively in the lower right corner. (Title soiled and other plates with occasional light soiling.) Contemporary calf gilt (lightly rubbed). Provenance: A. H. Bright (booklabel).
A RARE SET OF HOLLAR'S SERIES OF COSTUME ENGRAVINGS. Although the book is dated 1643 it is known that the plates stayed with Overton until Sayer acquired them some time before 1766. Colas 1466.
