Each with a rectangular caned seat between reeded X-frame supports terminating in scrolls, the arms and legs joined by reeded baluster turned supports on gilt-metal ball feet, various repairs and restoration

This pair of Grecian-form bench was popularised by Messrs. Morgan and Saunders of Trafalgar House, Catherine Street, and a related window seat by these makers is illustrated in R. Ackermann, The Repository of Arts, London, 1809 (see P. Agius, Ackermann's Regency Furniture and Interiors, London, 1984, p. 39).
