A CARVED ZITAN DISPLAY CHEST
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The chest is of rectangular section, the floating-panel doors carved in low relief with classic archaistic C-scroll motifs, opening to reveal a fitted interior composed of three fixed shelves and three drawers carved with similar motifs. The railings around the top are carved with further C-scroll motifs and the integral base is pierced with archaistic scrolls. The chest is mounted with huangtong hinges and lockplates.
