Compare the present lot to another Daoguang bowl similarly decorated with bajixiang in the collection of the Palace Museum in Beijing, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum 39 Porcelains with Cloisonné Enamel Decoration and Famille Rose Decoration, Hong Kong, 1999, p. 232, no. 207. Also see a later Tongzhi bowl with an almost identical form and decoration in the Simon Kwan collection, included in the exhibition Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing from the Kwan Collection, illustrated in the catalogue, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1983, p. 105, no. 97.
