From time to time a Christie’s group company (excluding Christie’s Auction (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.) may offer a lot which it owns in whole or in part. This is such a lot. This Lot has been sourced from overseas. When auctioned, such property will remain under “bond” with the applicable import customs duties and taxes being deferred unless and until the property is brought into free circulation in the PRC. Prospective buyers are reminded that after paying for such lots in full and cleared funds, if they wish to import the lots into the PRC, they will be responsible for and will have to pay the applicable import customs duties and taxes. 在本次拍品《丝绸之路 (A:a—2)》(Lot 46) 源于《联合国》项目。谷文达将各国人的发丝结成一个圆形—他认为,现代生物科学和遗传工程通过DNA 可以从一丝头发中得到人类的所有信息,藉以说明人类历史上那段中国和阿拉伯世界频繁接触时期,频繁多样的商业往来与文化交流。 1993 年,谷文达开始创作《联合国》计划,此作品也成为这位中国艺术家走进西方艺术世界的代表作。“那个时候,凡是不在英美体系的外国艺术家都面临着被边缘化的困境,这个困境也困扰了我很长时间,直到《联合国》作品,我才觉得解放了。它不仅涉及400 多万人的头发,也触及了不同文化的包容性问题”。 谷文达曾师从陆俨少先生,系统的研习过中国书法、山水画以及印章雕刻技术。此作品的下半部是沿用他以往善用的错位、肢解的书法文字做水墨画,看似篆书体异形字,结构类似“乐”。谷文达对于文字与形象和谐统一的乌托邦式的追求,正是中国观念水墨艺术与西方不拘一格创作手法完美结合的杰出代表。
