A CELADON AND GREY JADE ARCHAISTIC VASE, FANGZUN
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The rectangular vase is carved to the central section with the auspicious characters Shou, all between taotie masks carved in low relief and lappets spreading outward on the trumpet neck and splayed foot. The corners and vertical middle sections of each facet are carved with ridged flanges.
