KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The bowl is sturdily potted with deep sides and prominent shoulders, curving inwards to the neatly lipped rim. The exterior is finely painted in varying copper-red tones to depict a continuous scene of small and large carps swimming amongst aquatic plants and pond weeds. The rim, foot and eyes of the fish are highlighted in underglaze blue.
