Baskets of this form were formerly in the Chappey and Pierpont Morgan collections, and according to the exhibition catalogue Porcelaines de Vincennes, Les Origines de Sèvres, Grand Palais, 14 October 1977-16 Janvier 1978, p. 44, this form is fairly rare. Other known examples include a pair in the Frick Collection, see The Frick Collection, vol. VII, New York, 1974, pp. 221-223, nos. 34.9.17 and 34.9.18; a single basket in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (museum no. 745-1882); and a pair possibly in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs or the Louvre in Paris.
