Face A: the cover; the upper rim stamped with two stars, engraved with horizontal sundial, PERGE SECVRUS, stamped letters and numberals, (pin gnomon missing), below a wind rose MONSTRO VIAM with stamped or punched numberals, the arm pointer with hand finely engraves
Face B: the inner cover; with pin gnomon dial PLANETARUM HORAS, and two further dials QUANTIAS DIEI and HOROLOGIUM AEQUIN OCTIALE and makers name with date
Face B: the horizontal; with string gnomon dial (string missing) the compass well 1 3/8in. (3.6cm.) diam. (needle and glass missing), punched HORAE AB MERDIE, and pin-gnomon dial SOLSTICIUM ESTIUUM HORAE AB ORTU ET CCC ASV
Face C: the underside, with table of thirty-six continental and mediteranian cities and towns with latitudes The fruitwood body of the dial with latitude scale, placement for detachable gnomon with hinged cover, and two hooks and pins, in the original red-stained chamois-leather lined leather covered case with stamped decoration, two brass hings and two hooks and eyes 4¼in. (10.8cm.) wide
