the case with bracket foot, raised gilt chinoiserie figures to the plinth and rectangular trunk door, similar decoration to the hood with brass-capped 3/4 columns, pierced wood sound fret beneath the cavetto arch with pagoda top surmounted by three gilt ball finials, the dial signed Michael Millis London on a silvered plaque in the arch, silvered chapter ring with pierced blued hands, plain brass centre with subsidiary seconds and calendar aperture, the five pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 99in.(255cm.) high
